ARCHERY ACADEMY SPONSORED SHOOTERS clean up at the ABA Paper, Two Day Event held at Bordertown S.A. Sept 19, 20th 2009
Our recent arrival Geoff Blesing came out all guns blazing with his HOYT Alphamax setting the pace in the morning 3 arrow round with a clean 400 / 392
Not to be out done Ralf Kling and his HOYT Alphamax responded with a 388 / 400 in the afternoon's 1 arrow round. Impressive stuff guys. Ralf also completed the third leg of his Freestyle Unlimited GRAND MASTERS an award he has achieved a record 3 times.
Geoff rounded off the weekend with the 2 day record, with an impressive 398 / 396 on the Sunday.

Ralf has been successfully shooting for us for a number of years now. He is committed to his Archery and a perfectionist.
He has been busy attending shoots, moving house and getting married and still manages to stay on top. For a perfect round or a perfect kitchen speak with Ralf.

DUANE COATES
Duane began in archery in 1984 and following a short break, resumed again in 1993. During this time he set several state and national records and was a very prominent shooter in South Australia.
In 1995 he was a member of two Australian teams, the world target championships in Jakarta and world indoor in Birmingham after winning the Australian national indoor in Wollongong.
Awarded the South Australian Sports Institute high performance athlete scholarship 1996-97.
In 1997 he again took a break from archery to pursue his career in the wine industry and earned a Masters of Oenology from Adelaide university. Following experience in Burgundy, the Norther Rhone Valley regions in France and the Douro Valley in Portugal he is now winemaker for Cleggett's, Raydon Estate wines, and of course his own label, COATES, of course. Duane is also active in wine judging.
In 2008 he returned to competition and within 12 months began shooting extremely well placing 9th in the 2009 Australian national target championships, 6th in the 2009 national indoor and 6th in the 2009 Australian Open.
Duane shoots Easton Protour and Hoyt Vantage Elite.
Recent achievements include:

Duane shoots a HOYT Vantage Elite with spiral X cam for outdoor and HOYT Pro Elite with cam and a half plus for indoor, and EASTON X10 arrows.
Duane has just been offered a visiting athlete scholarship to AIS following his selection in the training squad for the Commonwealth Games.
